About the Event

If you are new to the idea of PACE and would like an overview of the approach, this 2 hour presentation will give you a brief introduction to the principles of Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity & Empathy

So often we hear one another during social interactions but are we really listening to what they are saying? PACE is an approach that helps us to interact with others in a more meaningful way. As we convey Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy for the other person we connect with their internal experience. Alongside this our enjoyment of the relationship is communicated where appropriate through a Playful attitude. PACE allows us to engage in reciprocal social interactions in a way that strengthens trust in the relationship which provides a secure base from which we can explore shared experiences, both positive and more complex issues. PACE focuses on the relationship (connection) so that any correction, supervision or consequences that need to be put in place can be received more openly.

PACE can be applied in all social interactions; at home between children and their carers/parents, in schools between pupils and staff as well as in residential homes and in the general workplace amongst colleagues.
