About the Event

In this 2-hour presentation we reflect on the experience of having an adolescent struggling with their emotional health and the impact this has not only on them but you as parents and teachers.

We look at typical teenage development and think about why adolescents are more vulnerable to Mental Health difficulties drawing on brain development and neuroscience to illustrate this.

We gain an insight into the experience of a young person experiencing mental health issues and explore ways in which we can communicate with adolescents in a way that allows open engagement and builds strength in our relationships through the power of the PACE approach (Playfulness, Acceptance Curiosity & Empathy)

The session closes with some time spent on the importance of self-care and on how you as parents and teachers can looking after yourself and where to go for further support.
